What this website collects.
Short version: the contact form, and a count of page views.
Who we are
Cytometa B.V., Gallileïlaan 33-J, 6716 BP Ede, The Netherlands. KvK 96194898, BTW NL867507779B01. For anything on this page, email sales@cytometa.com.
No cookies, no third parties
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It runs no advertising scripts and no third-party embeds, so nothing about your visit is shared with anyone else. We count visits ourselves, on our own server, as described below. There is no consent banner because there is nothing stored on your device to consent to.
Visitor statistics
So that we know which pages are read and roughly where our readers are, each page view records: the address of the page, the date and time, the page that linked you here, the language and time zone your browser reports, your screen size, and which browser, operating system and kind of device you use. If you arrived through a link we tagged, the tag is recorded too.
We do not record your IP address, and we do not record the full identification string your browser sends. The identification string is read only to work out which browser, operating system and kind of device you use, your IP address only to make the visitor code described below, and both are then discarded.
To count visitors rather than page views, your IP address and browser identification are combined with a secret random value into a code that cannot be turned back into either. That random value is replaced every night and the old one destroyed, so the code cannot link one day to the next, and nothing about it points back to you.
These numbers are only ever read as totals. They are not combined with the contact form, with our customer records, or with anything else, they never leave our server, and they are not used to treat one visitor differently from another. Rows are deleted after thirteen months.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether this website works, and Dutch telecommunications law allows statistics of this kind without consent because they have little or no effect on your privacy. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is recorded at all.
The contact form
If you send the form on our contact page, we receive the name, company, email address and any details you write about your site, together with the IP address the submission came from. The IP address is included only so we can recognise automated spam.
That message is emailed to our sales address. It is not stored in a database on this website. We use it to answer you and for nothing else - no mailing list, no profiling, and we do not pass it on.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and where your message is about a possible trial, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our sales mailbox for as long as the conversation may still be relevant, and are removed after two years at the latest unless you have become a customer, in which case the business relationship governs it.
Server logs
Our web host records ordinary access logs - the requested address, time, IP address and browser identifier - which exist to keep the server running and secure. We do not use them to build a picture of individual visitors.
Where it is processed
This website and our email are hosted in the European Union. Cytometa is EU owned, with no US parent company. How the Cytometa Cloud platform handles customer data is described on our security page, and in the agreement customers sign.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to us holding it at all. Email sales@cytometa.com and we will deal with it ourselves. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority.
If we add anything that collects more than the page counts described above, this page changes before it goes live, and it will say plainly what is collected.
